Like the sparrow, I am the most ordinary of creatures, yet God has given me a magical song. Like most, my journey has held its share of adventures and challenges, gifts and paradoxes, joy and sorrow. Though single long into my adulthood, the Lord was and remains my constant companion. Though I’ve often been frail and sick, God is forever my strength and sustenance. I’ve succeeded and failed, soared on life’s heights and plunged to its depths. I’ve been disappointed by others and disillusioned with myself. Yet, I’ve been changed by God’s grace, an act of transformation that is still occurring. His grace has swept me away on its currents, strengthened me, and freed me for flight.
